Scope of Work
  • Renovations to the existing 1924 Old Gym Building, a three-story 13,000 SF brick structure that is a contributing structure to the NC School for the Deaf National Register Historic District.
  • Renovations will accommodate professional services (audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology) and a recreation space for K-12 grades.
  • General scope includes a 2,000 SF stair/elevator tower addition, historic entry portico addition, historic window replacement, low-slope roof replacement, new slabs on ground floor, new floor structure over abandoned pool, new open (unrated) stair within existing structure, and all new plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems.
